Jed moved to Canada, just as tensions flared over the Suez Crisis back in the UK.

He tried to ease Anglo-Canadian relations by sending MPs syrup-soaked postcards. Several melted. One MP called it ‘sweet but sticky foreign interference’. Jed was pleased.
