Advertising boomed in late '50s New York, with Madison Avenue at the centre of the craze.
Jed crashed a Y&R party thinking it was free jazz. He gave a fake pitch for mustard as ‘emotional glue.’ The creative director hired him on the spot. Nobody’s sure if it was a dare.
