1961
The Colour Catastrophe

Colour TV ads began trickling into American homes, changing broadcast aesthetics.

Jed directed a cereal ad in vivid orange. Unfortunately, every object — children, spoons, dog — came out the same shade. Viewers thought it was a protest. It won an award for 'bold commentary.' Jed accepted.

Mmm... did that actually happen?

Tell us about something that did:-)

John Emmerling added this comment:

The Flaming Red MGA Convertible I first met Jed in 1961 at the San Francisco office of Y&R—an enthusiastic flamboyant English bloke who used the word "Huzzah!" to great effect. I have a distinct recollection of him rolling up and down the city's hills—top down and scarf flying in the wind—in his classic MGA convertible. (Red, of course.) I never saw him in the car with the top up for protection. That's how I'll always remember Jed—top down and flying through life!

Dug added this comment:

Thanks for this John! We shall have to be saying 'huzzah' all weekend:-)
