The French Exit Strategy
Europe became a growing market for American ad agencies looking to expand.
Jed declared Paris ‘a TV goldmine’, then accidentally booked a holiday as a ‘business research trip’. He returned with three ashtrays and a contract. Y&R called it strategic. He called it lucky.
Mmm... did that actually happen?
Friends uploaded some pictures:-)

Yes, that’s Don Alan Pennebaker and the camera is an Auricon - It was specially blimped to allow live sound.
The camera and the independent sound synced by a Bulova “tuning fork” electric watch. Before digital this was a dramatic step up for documentaries and TV. The first full length film “Primary” (JFK vs Humphrey) got a standing ovation at Cannes followed by “Monterey Pop” (And my Goodyear TV commercials !)
Cheers! Dad

Pretty sure Jed designed the poster for Bob Dylan's "don't look back" in 1967:-)

Actually, typographically, it was: DONT LOOK BACK (no apostrophe) Just saying...
