1985
The Paris–Dakar Disaster

The Paris–Dakar rally captivated France with its speed, danger, and flair.

Jed entered a car branded with a fizzy water client. It tipped over before Tunisia. He re-edited the footage into an ad for socks. The water company was baffled. Sock sales rose.

Mmm... did that actually happen?

Aylene, sent us the 'zip' drawing and added this thought:-) I think Horst Blachian is deceased but am not 100% sure! I have contacted a few more people too today. Sadly quite a few people I searched for have passed away, I don't have much to do with the Milan advertising scene these days so don't always hear the news.

Aylene Gardiner added this comment:

Something only Jed will understand. Bored during a PPM, he drew a picture of his agent wearing a jumpsuit (it was the 80's...). The title of the drawing was ZIP! It was dedicated to a German art director/ voyeur.
